Recruiters look at what?: 6 Tips from Recruiters Who Look at YOUR Animation Demo Reel

This has given me an insight as what to expect when applying anything to an animation company. be straight forward and make it count. The obvious being stay away from clichés.

The article offers 6 tips to how to "woo" a recruiter. One of the main things is unique is the best route. It shows off how well you can animate. Another good point made in the article is that you have 30 seconds to amaze the recruiter. If you waste time on a title card and such they will get bored quick.

The Order 1886 : The review

Okay so let me just start with that The Order 1886 looks awesome. It is visually appealing as well as a good plot and game mechanics. The way they are looking at cinematography is simply astonishing. this makes complete sense that the way we look at movies should influence the games we play.

 Ru Weerasuriya, the CEO and Creative Director at Ready at Dawn sought out to create a game that is truly immersive. He studies old films and movies to uncover what makes them so powerful and immersive. what he finds is that the lenses and angles combined make the illusions appear as if they were real. Ru also found that when they're are imperfections and lenses people can't tell. But when the imperfections are removed and the shot is polished, its easy to tell between 2 shots.

This week i learned that there are a lot of jobs in animation that i didn't know about. Such as the exciting job of a render wrangler. I cant wait to learn how to animate. i'm not very good at it right now. I was kind of annoyed when i came in on friday and both versions of my character in toon boom were "corrupted".It wasn't a big deal, i just redrew it. I felt really satisfied when i finished coloring it though. Well, i think thats it for me. I know its not very interesting.
